3 food things ☕️🍦πŸ₯¬

I love this picture!!! HAHA!!! It’s my life in a nutshell ….the sugar fast book plus ice cream πŸ™‚ 

First the ice cream. I have to stay away from caffeine because it makes my heart race. Chocolate seems to be ok (!) thank goodness. But a lot of coffee makes me weird and keeps me up at night (yes this is a middle aged woman’s blog…so don’t complain) …anyway, I wanted to get coffee ice cream for Wes’ birthday, and decided to make my own (I just remembered where I got the idea! Shutterbean shared a recipe for coffee Oreo ice cream

My version of decaf coffee ice cream is just store bought cookie dough ice cream with decaf instant coffee granules stirred in! I started with just about 2 tablespoons, then added a tiny bit more. It was DELICIOUS! 

The book, 40 day Sugar Fast by Wendy Speake looks helpful and inspiring. I can’t wait to start! I’m scared to even try to explain it, because it sounds cheesy and overdone (don’t eat sugar, focus on the Lord) but from what I’ve read so far, I love the focus on scripture and reminders of how much we rely on not only sugar and desserts, but plenty of other crutches in our lives, where we should be wholly relying on God. 

My last food related thing is not the toast in the photo, but the chai tea latte in the mug! Who drinks chai tea? My mom in law told me about it and I’ve gotten attached to it. She makes it with Bengal Spice tea bags…listen to this description of the tea: 

The latte is made using the tea bags (2) , the Tazo concentrate (decaf πŸ˜‰ ), oat milk, a little sugar, and sea salt. 

It makes me think of fall! Who is drinking hot tea (Mom, I know you are!!)
