C A M :: raleigh (contemporary art museum)

Ready for another great Raleigh destination?! This was from our field trip last week and the same day we visited lucettegrace (previous post) ...notice the theme - yellow ! :)

To be honest, I had high expectations for this museum. Looks fun from the outside, and the location is great (warehouse district)...so I was the tiniest bit disappointed - but ONLY because the current exhibits weren't my favorite. They had about 4 artists' work on display and it just wasn't my thing necessarily...but, the museum itself is a great space filled with light and possibility. The kids really enjoyed the classroom where you could create your own works of art using a ton of supplies on hand. (I've learned that the boys are older now and they will scoff and complain about something for about 10 minutes - then enjoy it and get involved. Which is what happened in the classroom when Skye and I took our time and worked on some art. They eventually joined in and made some funky stuff )

I will be keeping my eye out for upcoming exhibits and next time bring a skateboard ! ((If you bring a skateboard you get in free:-))

On that same day in Raleigh we also saw an iMax movie about the national parks which was gorgeous. (There you go, Monica...more places to visit :-))
