art class #4 [flowers/tissue paper/peacock drawings]

Hello! Welcome to art class- we will draw and paint flowers today! Here is your teacher, Miss Sara, who looks slightly confused :)

First we started out playing with play-doh. (Play-doh has to be the best stress reliever. Who doesn't like play-doh?!)

Then we drew our flowers and vases and outlined with pastels. (I love pastels!)

 Time to paint!

Then we did the old wrap tissue paper squares at the end of a pencil trick to make 3-d tissue art.

I can't begin to tell you how happy these flower paintings made me! Oh! Before we painted we looked at famous paintings of flowers (Sunflowers by Van Gogh, Oriental Poppies by O'Keefe, and flowers by Warhol)

Our last project- step by step peacock drawing. (Idea from here, of course ;)
