Come on in! Here is the kitchen, let me first show you the new painting by the door.....
Looking this way, you will get a glimpse of the bottom cabinets that I painted, red! The top ones are waiting patiently to get their red coats on.
I still need to pull out the fridge and paint the side of the cabinet too. This was just the very beginning of a large project!
Can't wait til it's all done and I can do proper before and after photos.I am so happy with this color. Red was never on my list of color choices...I was always thinking green- something light- basically because that is the trend right now. But when I saw the photo in the magazine of red cabinets it made me so happy, and I knew this color was right for us.....add the distressed look and I am even happier.

I like it!!! The bit of contrast on the top (you still intend that, don't you?) will be super!

Oh my goodness!!!! That is amazing!!! The distressed look is awesome.
I love all the color in your house! I decorate in denim blue and paperbag brown, nice and calm. I had an, extended family, rebellion on my hands when I said I wanted to paint my studio Chartruse Green. Wow! Oh well, we moved and no studio, now that I can paint.
Love it! I really like the the yellow on top and the red on the bottom You should consider keeping it that way.
Sara, SO glad you didn't go with green. Red is PERFECT and suits the house so well! I LOVE your new painting (and frame! :-) ) by the door. GREAT job!!! (me want)
I finally got to come back to your blog to see what color you meanly made us wait to see ;). Love the red. It's my color of choice in any season for anything and no matter what's in. Goes perfectly with your black and oranges and greens. Good job! Okay, you really got me antsy now to change my wood colored formica partical board cupboards. Barb gave me an idea...will probably take me 10 years but it gives me hope! LOL!
