Candace has been mentioned here at the art*house quite a few times. See here and here and here (oh my dear! those are some crazy pictures of my double chin)
Moving on...Candace wrote a cookbook for the Everything series books called The Everything Freezer Meals Cookbook. This is a great cookbook- Candace explains everything you need to know about freezing foods- the hows, whys, the ins and outs- it is super informational. Each recipe tells how you can freeze it. I love this! So many times I want to make things ahead, like for when company is coming- and I am never sure if certain things will freeze well. Now I can use these recipes and know that they will freeze and thaw right and taste good!
I will leave this contest open until next Monday.
Can't wait to hear your comments. It is always fun to hear from you- comment about anything you'd like, or you can congratulate Candace, or if you have no clue what to say, tell me if you are cooking a turkey on Thursday or not (or how about a Turducken? I just learned about that on NPR)
I am also going to send a tiny stuffed owl to the winner. Because I love you :)

Freezer meals sound like a God send right now. With all the business of the holidays and the family and just everyday this would be a great to have the meals made all on one of the weekend days and just have to pull out "something".

This would be awesome! I have been interested in freezer meals, but have been a bit intimidated to actually start!
Always wanted to try this out but I'm like Lisa - a bit intimidated! Thanks for the giveaway!
Oh cool! Would love to win a cookbook. Congrats to your talented friend. She is with good company.
hugs,

Oh this would be fun. I need ideas like this esp. since I get off work so late. I would love the owl as well.
Love that church nursery wall.
I would love to win this book (and owl)! What a fun giveaway!
Congrats to your friend, Candace! What a great accomplishment!
My daughter went to a party, on Saturday night, and her friend made Turducken and I hear it was good!
Have a great day!!!
Kim
This book sounds great. With six kids, plan ahead meals are always a welcome thing!
How fun! Congrats Candace! Freezer meals are great because you don't have to think about what you are making, just pop one into the oven and voila! I am NOT cooking a turkey, my parents still do that for the whole family, but I will be making Green Beans Almondene, and Cheesy Potato Casserole! I also LOVE your sweet little owls so I am excited about this drawing!!! Thanks for the chance to win!

oh! how exciting!!! I have always wanted to try freezing ahead too!- and now since we are moving waaaaay out in the country I think it would be the perfect time to try it!
-I loved your last post b.t.w.- I'm having a felt addiction as well! and the yarn necklace!- what a fun gift idea for Christmas- they do have so many beautiful yarns- even adding in a few beads and charms would be fun!
Thanks for sharing (and inspiring!)
Many Blessings!
Jill
What a fun book!!! That would be SOOO helpful. I often have the same dilemma about freezing food ahead of time.
What a wonderful giveaway. Congratulations on the book!
How wonderful for your friend. I would love to win a copy. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I always think having freezer meals ready to go would be such a great idea but have never had the motivation to do it. Maybe this book would help! Our life has gotten so busy lately with the kids' extracurricular activities that dinner time has become a rare commodity. I do not like it and it must change!!
And here I thought you bought the extra one for your mom. Is Candace part of your church?
This is something I definitely need! PICK ME! ... We are frying turkey, baking ham and having wonderful sides. No pumpkin pies this year, just yummy pumpkin ooey gooey bars (A Paula Dean recipe!)
The cookbook sounds fabulous. I'm hoping I win. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Oooo, pick me, pick me! I have lots of sad stories about always having to come up with supper ideas. My family would benefit from this book! I don't know what we are doing for supper tonight or tomorrow or Wednesday...but the turkey is in the fridge for Thursday to share with Grammy and Grampy!
Hugs to you all! Kari
I have never tasted a turduckin, but being the Food Network junkie that I am, I know all about them, and was just thinking the other day how delish they look! I am actually cooking a turkey today because they are so inexpensive at this time of year, and I will freeze the meet and make stock from the bones. The actual T-day bird will be the responsibility of the inlaws!
I would love to have this book!
If I don't win it, I just might have to buy it...looks like a great one!
What a neat giveaway! I have been looking for a good freezer cooking book. I'm thinking that will be on my list of things to do in 2011!
We are having thanksgiving at our house for the first time. Should be interresting! My in-laws are taking care of the turkety, but they are cooking it at our house (they're from CO!) and I worry about my oven...should be an adventure.
Oh, and I first heard about a turducken on a cake decorating show. They actually made one out of cake. = ) We now joke about making one and I even saw one in an add the other day. Too crazy!
Another fun giveaway! Yes we are cooking a turkey, along with stuffing, rice, green beans, corn, sweet potato pie, haystacks....you get the idea! =) I love Thanksgiving! haha!
I would love this!

Would love to win this book - I could use some fresh ideas, plus I'm sure my daughter would enjoy looking that this cookbook, too! And I already baked a turkey - last week!!
Congratulations, Candace! How exciting to have someone someone famous right there in your church;-) I would love to have some of those freezer ideas for nights when we get home from school late. It would sure be much less than a Schwann's meal too;-)
That's awesome! How exciting for her to have a cookbook published. I'd love to win, plus I'd love one of your owls, they're so cute!
I love cookbooks, and I think I need this one for my collection! I freeze a lot of soups, and would love some more recipes.

How cool! I think this would be a very good book for me. I have 5 children, and my husband works crazy hours, and food I have frozen really saves us some nights. I have no idea what I am doing though, and mainly stick to soups and stuff b/c I am afraid to freeze other things. And a mini owl, well that would just be the icing on the cake b/c I love everything you make!
i just cleaned out the freezer, so i have a lot of room for meals - but like you no clue what and how to freeze :)
this would be great!
Sara, I'm a first time poster but have been following your site for a while now. You have been such an inspiration to me. Your art has made me realize I need MORE color in my life! I would love to win the cookbook and I am in love with owls at the moment! Many blessings
I love cookbooks! And this one would be great! A friend and I have wanted to start freezer cooking and split the cost. This would be a great step in that direction.
This would be a great cookbook, especially with freezing foods for my son to take to college!
This looks like a great book. I would love to have ready to go meals in the freezer for those nights when you just don't know what to make.
I love your owls. I have been making felt fingur puppets recently. So simple and addicting!
Sounds like a great book! :)
This would be awesome! I have been interested in freezer meals, but have been a bit intimidated to actually start, thanks for the chance!!
This sounds like a wonderful book. Congrats to Candace. I don't blame you for getting excited I would have too.
Oooh! I would love to win! It looks great! I could use some help in the freezer cooking area! Thanks for the giveaway!
Reading cookbooks is a hobby of mine. Love them - and would love to add another to my "collection"!
Bunches of thanks, (B/c we are being so thankful right now!)
Deeann
My husband wouldn't agree that I need another cookbook, but this one looks like one I could really use.
We are frying a turkey like we have for at least 5 years now. I enjoy it because I don't have to deal with the bird...it's all my husband's job.
Thanks for the giveaway and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
You're right...so many times I want to cook ahead but I can't stand that "freezer" flavor that some foods get so I would love to know how to freeze meals properly!

Sounds like a great book! We are having our turkey smoked this year at a local meat shop, should be yummy and I don't have to cook it! :)
cory
This book sounds GREAT! I am terrible about making stuff to freeze. :)
I am not making turkey Thursday -- I do the pies and help with a few other things. . . thank goodness my MIL will take care of the turkey. :)
I can't wait to read this book! I love anything that helps me get good food to the table quckly!
Sounds like a great cook book! I'm not cooking the turkey this year. We're are guests with some friends. I'm bringing rolls and dessert!
I really need to try this...My family ends up eating ramen whenever I don't plan ahead. Nothing against ramen...but, you know...
This book sounds perfect! I have been wanting to freeze some meals for when times get hectic or when another mom friend needs a last minute meal. Also, an owl from you would be sweet - those owls are adorable!!
Am I too late??? I haven't been on your blog in a while!!! Always love catching up with each of my oh-so-talented- sis in laws' blogs! :)
Hugs,
Tricia
Hope I win!!!!
