I got my yearly physical done today and am thankful for a good report- they are calling me later today to schedule my first mammogram......what a milestone :) :) My doctor was so encouraging. She said she just had her first one and it was not that bad at all. Tell me what you think...on a scale from 1 to 10, how painful/awful is it (10 being the worst ever)

Hmmm 0 - 10. It is only uncomfortable for about 10 seconds for each picture (4, usually) I'd say a 3 on a pain scale. Probably depends on the size......small being a little worse. It seriously is nothing. It is over and done with so quickly. I think the other check-up is alot worse. Good luck.
My last one was a 0!!! They said the machines are much improved from when I had my first one years ago. Hope yours is a 0 too!

LOVE your painting and the saying on it!!! Mammograms aren't bad at all...when you consider the alternative. Really, any discomfort only lasts a few seconds - and then you're DONE! BTW, I'm a cancer survivor [endometrial].
I thought Mammos didn't start 'til you were 40...
Not a huge deal, but it's also nice to hear when things come back negative!
I would say a 6.
I'd say a 4. Hurts for a second or two with each picture, but it's over before you know it. Soooo important though.

As for the mammogram, I've yet to have my first, so I can't put my 2cents in there, sorry. :o)

I would say a 3. I have a high tolerance for pain, though- at least I think so. AND it is so short- over quick:)
Gorgeous painting, Sweets! I had my first mammogram last year and it was a piece. of. cake. No lie! I told the tech it was my first time and it did not hurt a bit! I even hugged her when we were done! You'll do just fine!:) Lori

Mine didn't hurt at all. I think people psyched me up for such a terrible test that I was greatly relieved that it didn't hurt! Glad your doc is getting you in early. So important to start before 40, if you ask me!

And don't waste energy stressing over the mammogram. I would classify it as a bit uncomfortable, but not painful. No big deal at all. The technicians usually are very kind too.
I'm technically still too *young* for a mammogram, but I wouldn't mind getting one. I'm a rather safe than sorry kind of gal.. My grandmother has had breast cancer twice and recently had a mastectomy. She's a trooper!
I love that painting & holy cow, it's huge! Also, love your hair! Remember when I dyed mine this summer? I tried to dye it back and it didn't work. I might need to seek a professional!!
I would put the uncomfortable-ness some where between 1-3 on the scale. I agree with the comment that said the annual pap exam is more uncomfortable than the mammogram.
