Folk Art Paint Giveaway!

This is so fun- I love paint (you already knew that?!) A good blogger friend and fellow mod podge lover- Mod Podge Amy of Mod Podge Rocks! and Paint me Plaid- is allowing me to do a Folk Art Paint giveaway!!!!!!!!!! She sent me this set of 10 paints (I got to pick the colors!) And I get to give these same colors away to one of you!!!!! Isn't that great news?

I usually use the Apple Barrel paints (made my the same people as the Folk Art acrylics), and I am used to getting primary colors and mixing any color I need. There is something very therapeutic about mixing your own colors. So I thought it would be interesting to try these custom colors. I still did end up mixing them together- add a little gilded oak to the apple red....lavender with a little dark brown made some more good color.

Gigi wanted this little side table painted... and I though this would be a good place to try these paints.

I had a lot of fun with the colors.

No surface was untouched.

Painting is fun.

I love these colors.

I think you will like sampling these colors too.

Just leave a comment telling me what you like to do creatively (paint? sew? cook? garden? decoupage? etc....) and I will pick a name from the comments to be the winner of a bottle of each of these colors:

apple red
summer peach
pumpkin
gilded oak
rusted pipe
dark brown
lavender
steel gray
forest moss
apple orchard

(not sure what you would do with the paints? Not a painter? Try it! You may like it! Just squirt some around on a piece of wood or paper or canvas- spread it around with a spatula- you never know- you may find your stress reliever! That is my solution to every ailment - Paint!)

Thanks to Mod Podge Amy and the people from Plaid & Paint me Plaid for making this giveaway possible!

ooooo...I would love some paint! I paint everything. Reclaimed wood, furniture, canvas, my kids...oops, did I say that out loud. I also sew clothing, quilt, knit, crochet, scrapbook, photograph other peoples newborns for free, photograph my kids but not for free-that one costs me lots of patience.

Is that shelf laminate? Can you paint on laminate or do you know? Am I even spelling laminate right? Lots of questions. :o)

I need some paint. Really. I have some art projects coming up with my kids and I need to get some paint. I do a little sewing. Little being the key word. I do some scrapbooking, some writing, some painting (of my house, but I don't think it counts). I'm just not very talented. We can't all be, can we?

Have a happy weekend!

My favorite creative outlet is quilting. I like to "paint" with fabrics! :)

However, I have a little table and chair set that belonged to my boys when they were young. I've saved it in storage for many years, and now I want to paint it for my two year old daughter to use. I want to do something fun, bright, and playful. Maybe do a painted quilt on the table top?? I need a little bravery, and some inspiring colors. :)

Your chest looks precious, by the way. I love flowers that demand being noticed and admired. :) You did a wonderful job!

I am an amateur decorative painter. I use the Plaid Folkart paint almost exclusively to paint candles, plates, trivets and coasters, and bookmarks. I am also dabbling in polymer clay, but painting will always be my primary way to express myself artistically.

Love how you've jazzed up that little side table! I love to paint, but haven't done it in quite a while, as I'm currently into everything quilty. I've been itching to paint again, but don't have any paints! Mama needs a new set of paints!

I just did my first floor cloth on Canvas with Folk Art paints. It was not exactly a floor cloth I covered a step stool with canvas and then painted it with many coats of Gesso and Room paint then added the flowers and now poly urethane to make it water proof. It was so much fun. My big problem here is I either have to order everything by mail or drive a long way to an art store to find what I want. We only have a Wal-Mart and they don't have much in the way of supplies for craft painting anymore. This was really fun and I am sure that I will be doing more in the future.

Since I was a little girl, I was always fascinated with painting and drawing. In my senior year of high school, I took an art class and LOVED painting, but felt like I wasn't good enough.

Fast forward years later, I realized that my interest in painting never went away and just started doing it. I bought the acrylic folk art paints because they're affordable and if I lost interest, I wouldn't be out of a ton of money...well I'm still painting and I'm ready to take it to the next level.

I have a wooden chair in my garden with a planter on it. I have decided that one of my projects this winter is to finish the chair in different colors & maybe with the help of Mod Podge, put flowers on it. Or maybe bugs! How's about a bunch of funny looking bugs on a chair in the garden. That sounds good.

Hello Sara :D
I love your colourful site. I enjoy seeing all your work. I simply found you on google. I'm just a girl with creative dreams. I'm leading a really happy life. I'm intereted in painting and I really appreciate your work. I was just surfing the web. I usually get my art information from the web. I'm planning to make homemade gesso and homemade glimmer mist. For glimmer mist I was searching for Folk Art Paint and I found your lovely website! I love all types of art even though I may not do all of them. I'm slowly learning more. I have won an art contest once. My art has been published in a book. Now I'm working on my art journal. I'd just like to say that I like your website, therefore I will usually be "checking it out". I do hope I win those Folk Art Paints but if I do not I won't be sad, because there might have been someone else who was more worthy of it than I.
Sincerely,
Vishwa
