stripes, stripes, we love stripes (almost as much as polka dots)

I just started noticing that I wear stripes a lot- the kids wear stripes a lot, Dave wears stripes a lot.

I like to decorate with stripes and paint with stripes....

tiny stripes.....

green stripes...

navy & white stripes...or multicolored stripes...

...especially black & white stripes

things are just better with stripes!

a scarf is good...but with stripes- it is even better

stripes can go with other patterns too, just for fun

light green and dark green stripes

stripes on stripes

I have noticed that I don't often wear solid colors

at our house we like lots of pattern and color on our walls and our clothing :)

What about you? Are you a pattern person or a solid color person? I am really interested to know what my readers are like- I would guess that there are a lot of you that like stripes, polka dots, etc.....but I could be wrong....maybe you are a solid navy blue kind of person who comes here to shake your head in amazement at all the color & pattern......either way, I am glad you come to visit me :)

I am a floral person. I wear clothes with florals, my curtains have florals, my bedspread has florals. My girls have a polka dot bedspread though but before I slip covered it, it was floral! Only my husband is not all floral-y. I told him if I wasn't married our house would probably look like an old lady lived in it because I would have tons of girly, flowery, lacy stuff everywhere.

Personally, I am very fond of a nice, bright navy or better still, a brilliant black. :-)

I am a floral person first. I love all kinds of floral prints. But, I live in a house with my husband and four boys, so florals aren't exactly popular here. After florals I like stripes and other patterns. I like combinations of colors much better than solids. I get comments sometimes about how my boys are always wearing striped shirts.

I'm a little bit of everything person... but since falling in love with Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland I've developed a stripe obsession...

I used to wear a ton of black. Then one day my mother said to me, "Jane you teach elementary school, for goodness sake, integrate some color into your wardrobe!" I guess it was pretty bad. LOL. Now I live in sunny LA and I can hardly stomach to wear black. I wear colors every day. Mostly solids or stripes. I feel a bit overwhelmed by too much pattern near my face. I should be more adventurous I guess, but one step at a time.

Hate to say it, because I love all the patterns you feature here, but I tend to be a solid color girl, at least when it comes to my shirts. But keep posting, I love it!

Once we were having a family portrait taken at our home. Just so everyone would participate, I said they could wear anything they wanted.
All four boys, Dad included wore striped shirts. The photograper did not like it at all. I think it's funny now.

I love anything bright, bold, and colorful! Anything with a pattern is fantastic! As evidenced in my room which is lime green, my comforter is chocolate brown and I also accent with teal, and also a little bit of red! I just love color!!! It makes me so happy!

I wear solids. However, the rooms in my house wear plaids and florals.

I tend to lean towards wearing solids these days, bright happy colors along with my basic black, brown and navy. Although almost everything I buy accessories, fabric, curtains etc... I am a stripe person all the way! Plaids and polka dots are a close second!
I use to wear stripes a lot more, but they started to make me feel wider then I really am, so now just my socks are usually striped.

I am definitely solid colors for the most part, in my clothes and in my house. I try to find patterned clothes I like or think look good on me, but feel most comfortable in solid colors. I am one who likes to see all that you do with patterns and colors because I am not like that!

I like stripes too--usually uneven ones to boot!

So THAT'S why every time I see something with bold stripes I think of you!!!!:) Hmmm....I am more earthy, earth tones- lots of browns and greens, and yellows and oranges. I love paisleys and crochet and embroidery on my clothes and housewares. Those make me happy.

I'm surprised that Sarah hasn't left a comment! I'm definitely a striped person. One time when shopping with Sarah, I asked her opinion on a shirt I was thinking about buying. Her reply was something like, "Don't let me be the one to keep you from buying ANOTHER STRIPED shirt."!!! I didn't even realize until then how often I really DO wear stripes!

If you look in my closet, it is red and black--especially herringbone checks. But then, I am also undefinable in my style--classic for one room, romantic for another--mixed patterns in the laundry--guess that makes me eclectic? I love it all and adore the energy in your home!

I can't stand it when I get behind on your blog like this... sigh... :/ I miss being here so much! But then it's like coming home every time I finally get here :)

I LOVED ALL THESE PICS!!!

I think you already know what kind of color person I am! Stripes, dots, floral, rainbow, tie dye, the brighter the better, the more the merrier! LOL! And some white and black thrown in for good measure :D

Which is why I love being here so much, and why we're kindred spirits :)
