hello....goodbye...hello...goodbye.....rock.....rock...

before

snatched from the side of the road- thanks to a dear friend who rescued this poor lavender rocking chair

during

I was tempted to keep it like this- no dots, stripes, flowers, butterflies, plaids. I thought about it for a minute- but then my brushes spewed forth paint...........

after

********************************

Along the same lines of color and decorating with color:
I took my little "S" to the bathroom at the library and she said the bathroom was ugly. I was a little surprised since the bathroom was very nice, clean, new, painted beige and grayish colors. I asked her why it was ugly and she said, "because it needs more colors!"

(I have created a monster)

The rocking chair is adorable. I would love to find one like that by the side of the road. Love what you did to it. Your daughter's comment is too funny. How bland it must look to her since she is always surrounded by color.

Love the chair! Love the rest of the house, too! That would certainly offset my typical winter blues. Thanks for sharing ... I've posted a link.

If I already have the little chair, how much would you charge to paint it for me? This is adorable!! BTW- we loved our sectional when we had it, only problem is you can't change the room around every week (as my ADHD self loves to do) because it's heavy and the size limits where you can put it.

I was going to be sad if the finished product was what turned out to be the "during." You have a great eye -- and the enviable gift of getting what's in your brain out through your hand.

I have been wanting to do this to a chair for about a year now!!! What you've done is much better than what I was thinking of doing. This so ROCKS!!! And what a bargain!

Beautiful and a great save. I have my rocking chair that I rocked my two babies in eight years ago and it is just plain natural. I think you have inspired me to paint it! Thanks!!
