spring mantel '10

I am not quite ready to let go of the Easter season. Some eggs have stayed around (don't worry- they are blown eggs and will not get rotten :) And the Christ Arose! message is a good one to remember all year long....

...................................................................

A look at mantels past..........(I want so badly to type "mantle, " but mantel is right according to dictionary.com)
2006- our first Christmas in this house! First time to do the advent socks (the kids pick a treat out of a sock every day in Dec.)

Who knew this mantel has gone through SO MANY changes?!?! It is like when I was a teacher and I would change the class decor with the seasons, I guess. What will 2011 hold for the fireplace? You never know.................

Check out the Nester's site for the mantel party.

Dare I say that your mantel looked totally weird painted white?! How did you paint the bottom part -- is it called the hearth? I love that, too.

It's hard to pick a favorite photo, they are all so fun, even when it was white. I do love the photo of the stockings hanging low and the fire burning, so cozy :)

This mantle has gone through more changes then my hair style has! Let's not plummet the depths of how sad that is...

Oh my goodness Sara, I am in love with your style!! You are very talented, I am amazed at all the different things in your home! I lean very conservative because it's safe, but your house is truly amazing! I could learn a thing or two from you! (I am mad about the colors I painted my walls in my front room, they don't leave any playing around with bright fun colors, but it was my first attempt to decorating, so I can't be too mad at myself). Keep up the great work, I'm glad I found your blog!

Jen

P.S. I found your blog through The Speckled Dog feature. I was one too :).
