laundry room before and after

This was my little laundry nook.........

Now it is green!!!! And much more organized.

I painted it the same green as the pantry (paint I had on hand). Then added the flowers with paint a shade darker. I found some green containers for the shelf- and look! An extra paper lantern was just sitting around...and it was green......

The painting says: Live each day as if it were your last.....which is a crazy quote to have in the laundry area because if you truly are living each day as if it were your last --you would NOT be doing laundry! But...I do like the quote none the less (and it was green).

So when I come around the corner into my kitchen I can catch a tiny glimpse of my little calm laundry oasis down there.

**********************************************************************
I added the painted flower background to the pantry too.

My pantry: I love you, you make me happy. Thank you for being there for me :) In the process of re-doing the pantry (see before pics here) I discovered my design style.......
**Kindergarten Chic (KC)**

You know you are KC if you use 3 or more of the following in your decor:
#1 primary colors or rainbow colors (not just one of these colors- it has to be multicolored)
{2} numbers, rulers, yardsticks
[3] ABC art
::4 chalkboards and/or chalkboard paint
(5) children's books as art
=6=art supplies as art

Anyone else out there KC? I know we are a dying breed...:)

Sara I love your laundry room style. I am ready to re-do my laundry room, and I want a happy laundry room like you have created. Jackie

Oh, I love your laundry room! The paint is wonderful - I thought it was wallpaper until you told me! All the pieces fit together so well to make quite a piece!

Oh, and I love KC.... I don't match all of the criteria for KC, but am still happy with my DSC. Dr. Seuss Chic. Slightly like KC, but without the rulers. ;)

Have a beautiful day!

Your laundry room looks great! I love the soft green and how the shelf has the same finish as the walls. Such a clever idea!
Loving that pantry makeover too!

You really know how to do St. Patrick's Day right. :)

My laundry room would like to extend an invitation for you to come visit.

KC - too cute!

The laundry nook and pantry are awesome the way you have the coordinated.

SO, the other day the color quiz had me listed at "black" and I felt a little bland at that, but today- your KC had me at hello! That's my style and I am proud of it!

I love Kindergarten Chic! I've been doing it for years...I used to be a foster care caseworker in my pre-kids days and would decorate our office for every holiday. The rest of the office was so impressed with my ability to cut out shapes from construction paper to decorate with...and mistook it for actual decorating style! I had to inform them that I didn't have any decorating knowledge, but if they had a kindergarten classroom - I could decorate it :)

Oh, and I love your style...

I love your laundry room and the flowers you added to both the l.r. and pantry. So fresh and springy! Your house looks like a happy place!

The laundry nook looks great! Since I have done my share of laundry there, I am curious about where all the "stuff" went and where you keep the soap, etc. In the trunk of the car?

It looks beautiful, Sara. This will inspire you to keep those areas neat, I'm sure:) Oh and I'm PURPLE:Spontaneity is the key to your existence. Quick-witted with a flair for originality, you enjoy situations that allow you to explore your creativity. Comparatively conservative, you appreciate beautiful surroundings, especially if they’re found in nature. Your relaxed and self-assured personality allows you to work well with others. Surprisingly enough, your unique and unusual tastes don’t prevent you from being comfortable among your more conservative peers.

Hmmm....interesting:)

Your colors remind me so much of the "Whatever" blog! Are you familiar with it? She loves bright colors, polka dots, all things cheerful. Wonderful job on uyour laundry area! I just did mine, too, and I chose green.

Your blog AND your home are beautiful and so much fun. You have such a creative and free spirit, as well as a gift for color. And I'm all about color, as you can easily see from my art. Your home is one of the few that I've ever seen in which I could live comfortably. I can't wait to go look at your other blog now!

Love the Laundry room! I thought it was wall paper at first as well. I have sort of been morphing into the KC style recently (mildly so as we rent). I think it is a by-product of homeschooling five kids, but it is fun. My bedroom is the other extreme, very little color, lots of light and texture. If I can't have a quiet house I'm going to at least pretend there is a quiet room.

Well, I am a real KC!!!! I have been teaching for 30 years and most of it has been in kindy! I love Mary E. and she has inspired my black and white checks in my classroom along with all the other wild, crazy crafts I design for the kids to make:) My kitchen is black, white and red with ME teapots in the huge garden window! I am afraid I will never change:) I am a craftsman and make little wooden animal clocks as well as wind chimes, knick knacks and other things of whimsy. They all really show my KC! Lots of wild colors and polka dots. Loved seeing your things!!!!!!
