books I wish I had written

We have found a series of books by Ingri and Edgar Parin D'Aulaire. Biographies of famous people (Leif Erikson here, but our favorite so far has been George Washington). Easy to understand, lots of great pictures on every page, interesting and informative.

Another new favorite author, Lauren Child, and the Lola and Charlie books. So cute!!!! I love the patterns and prints, the cute littleline drawings. Very funny books.

Charlie is trying to convince Lola that she is old enough to go to school and that she needs to learn to read so she can write letters to people, so she says, "I like to talk on the telephone, it's more friendly and straightaway."
Found any great new (or new to you) authors lately?

Did you know there is a Charlie and Lola TV show? We have not had the Disney Channel for a long time, but back when we did, I thought it was the best show on there...and one of the few I let my kids watch!

My son loves the Charlie and Lola TV show. We have been reading a lot. My Pre-K child needs three books read to him a week. In fact he got a quality reader T-Shirt for us getting it done all 9 weeks. And if we do it the next 9 weeks he gets to go to the VIP room at the school carnival. Oh, and while I am bragging he made the Superintendent's Honor Roll! He was so excited.

Love Charlie and Lola too. I must say any Eric Carle book intrigues me--the art anyway. I am having my first linky party and would be honored if you joined!

How darling that Lola is.. I've never seen her before.. Little Brady loves dinosaurs and we read every single fun one we can find.. I remember when my "big boy" now 20 went through the dino. stage..

Ellie is fascinated by Caroline Mockford & Stella Blackstone's books, especially "Walk with Me" -- it's a lift the flap book. ;)p

Charlie & Lola are too cute -- we will be headed to the library for sure!

We absolutely love D'Aulaire, we have read most of his books.. my children are all obsessed with Benjamin Franklin because of these books! Literally OBSESSED, reading his biographies on their own! I adore these books!
