Photoshop

Guess what I got for Christmas from my parents? Photoshop 8.0! I know, I am very spoiled- Photoshop, Apples to Apples and a hairdryer! :)

So who can come over to my house and show me how to use photoshop??? Any tips that you can give me? Who uses it?

Speaking of Apples to Apples, we played last night with Mom & Dad and had so much fun! I am serious- it is the most fun ever. After a game we would look at each person's green cards and decided that they have the qualities listed on the cards....see for yourself- you will see that they are true.....

Dad: smelly, horrifying, frightening, can't tell what the others are......

Me: foreign & crazed....

Dave: cuddly, of course :)

Honest, my Dad is not that bad :) He is a very sweet (nice smelling) man, actually....

My mother-in-law just bought us that game and we played last night too! But we played where we got 7 red cards, and then the judge turned over one green card, then we had to give the judge one of our cards we felt best described the green card??? Is this the right way to play? Nevertheless, we laughed uncontrollably! But I did notice the cards my sis-in-law had won DID describe her - I think they were funky, friendly, chewy, etc - interesting!!!! Looks like ya'll had fun!

By the way, you've inspired me to write a childrens book that's been on my backburner for a LOOOONG time, my mom-in-law is a christian author and she works for Sunnyside Press - look her up, her name is Susan Downs, she's authored and co-authored some great love stories and mysteries!!! She says its waaaay easier to self publish a childrens book than to try to go through a publishing company - anyway good luck to you - I'm sure its fabulous!!!! P.S. Have you ever visited Eric Carle's blog?

WOW! photoshop, you lucky girl!
I learned about two years ago,I had to go on a course at college, although a friend of mine was really into photograghy and I sat with him for a few hours and it seemed to click quicker than being in a class with 30 other students. Good Luck, you'll love it:)

I have photoshop and I love it. There is a lot that I don't even know how to use and I even took a class at the community college near by. I would look for a good instructional book for photoshop, I have one that really helps me. My book is directly for the type of photoshop I have, so I would look for a book geared towards photoshop 8.0. Have fun playing around with it!

We just finished playing Apples to Apples Junior with the kids...very fun. I wonder how the regular game is different. Garth is a Photoshop guru...I haven't a clue. He uses Lightroom now to edit photos (just cause it's more simple).

Are you familiar with Pioneer Women? She has a lot of tutorials on Photoshop on the photo section of her blog. She is also a homeschooling mom. Her website is thepioneerwoman.com

You will LOVE Photoshop. I couldn't imagine my life without it. I have used it almost every single day for 6 years or more. The learning just continues. I don't think anyone could ever learn it all. There are lots of great QUICK tutorials on youtube. Just type in what you want to learn in the search space and you will get lots of options to learn from. They are very short, easy little lessons.
If you get in a bind I'd be happy to walk you through something.
Good LUCK.
