Making, Baking

Chocolate&sprinklecoveredpretzels have to be one of the easiest treats- but they look so festive.
I am ridiculously proud of this one pretzel rod....this is melted green mint candy, put in a zip lock and squirted on...I could not do the little curly-Q again if I tried (see photo below). Who will be allowed to eat that work of art?!?! Dave says I am crazy.......I guess you have to be to take pictures of yourself with a pretzel.

PeppermintMarshmallows We got the recipe from Martha and mine look nothing like hers....but they taste good and that's what counts! But let me tell you- making marshmallows is crazy messy.

I looked down to see this AWOL marshmallow slowly creeping down the wall....

Happy Baking, Happy Eating......:) What is your must make Christmas treat?

I always have to get Cordial Cherry's for my hubby. But, I was searching for something for my sons class Christmas Party. Check my Blog for our trial run on the trail mix. http://helpimsurrounded.blogspot.com/2009/12/cooking-with-kids.html

And every Christmas Eve me and my son make cookies for Santa.

Sara, this post made me laugh so hard! AWOL marshmallow! You and your pretzel! LOL!

This is going to sound awful, but I have not been in the holiday baking mood much lately. Maybe it is because I baked like a madwoman all summer while everyone else was grilling. Maybe it is because I bake something for my family several times a week (bread, rolls, muffins, etc.). I am certainly in the eating mood, though, and all of your treats look yummy!

MmmmMmmmmMmmmmm! I'm heading to the store soon, and can't wait to pick up the ingredients for some of these things. I think the pretzels will come first.
I love your fun food posts!!

Everything looks yummy. Though I love Martha nothing I make looks like hers. I don't know how many times they have to try and get it so perfect. We are making the chocolate covered pretzels here, too.

We made marshmallows one year too. Powdered sugar for twelve square yards!

My holiday must haves include chex mix, and also sugar cookies with too much frosting and too many sprinkles. Those are the best kind. My German grandma used to make a bread called "Stollen" with citron and candied fruit inside. We called it jewel bread because it looked like precious gems baked inside white bread. I still get sentimental when I see that at the holidays.

Bet your kitchen smelled heavenly today! YUM!

I would be proud of the curly-Q too. My must-make Christmas treat is cream wafers but I just might skip them this year because my home is so full of sweets already...we need to share I guess!
