the quilt

We kept a stack of our (almost 3 year old) little girl's cutest little baby outfits. My mom cut them up and made this ADORABLE crazy quilt. Isn't it the cutest thing? I think we are going to hang it on the wall in her room. There are so many details like little tags sticking out- buttons, a favorite smocked dress, clothes from Granna and Gramma and Gigi and Aunt Sarah and Aunt Barbie and cousin Jenna and best friend Helen. Thanks mom! We will cherish it forever!

Oh and WOW- did you guys ever blow me away with your comments and almost 100% agreement to paint the wall green! I guess I'll be buying green paint :) I did like the idea from Trish and a few others about painting some words up there with black paint. Thanks for the ideas - I will keep you posted. Have a great Friday!

I LOVE IT!!! Although I have to admit, I would have a hard time cutting up my fave outfits from Alli's *younger* years. But maybe, in a few years, if I am certain that we are done having children. Either way, it is beautiful - tell your mom she did a great job!

I LOVE the quilt! What a cute creative idea. I'll have to keep that one in the back of my mind for "someday"! What a neat way to be able to see all those cute baby clothes everyday instead of having them stuck in a box where no one seem them! What a treasure.

that is so cute! i didn't get to comment yesterday but i was thinking green too. i shudder to comment about decorating advice since i'm terrible at it though. it's nice to hear i'm not the only one who thought green.

Great idea! I was just wondering what to do with Morgen's clothes. I really hated to give them away, but didn't see the point in letting them sit in a bin the rest of her life. Thanks for sharing!

Love the idea! I can't imagine parting with all of my son's clothes but I also can't imagine keeping them stored in the basement forever either. Once I am done having kids I am totally going to make a quilt. Thanks for sharing this great blanket.

L-O-V-E the room and the amazing quilt!!! It's SO bright and cheerful, with incredible details everywhere.

When our daughter was about 6 months old, my mom made her a big & bright "tag" quilt. She loved tags for some reason, and would just touch and pull at them. ;-)

This brings back good memories...

i've been lurking on your site for a while, but this post, goodness. i just had to comment...

love, love, love the quilt. that smocked piece squeezed in there is just absolutely perfect. perhaps because i am partial to smocked dresses, but this is just priceless. thank you for this fantastic idea. i'll definitely tuck it away for later after my baby days are over.

thanks for your creative inspiration. i'm not sure what i enjoy most - the colors on your site (and in your kitchen and your life!) or your perfect way of pointing me to our Father. either case, i need my daily fix, for sure.

take care,
carly
