What We are Reading

The almost 3 year old is loving Maisy right now. Fun books!!!! Lucy Cousins - you are doing a GREAT job! keep it up.

All You Ever Need by Max Lucado. The boys love this book and I cry when I read it. Max Lucado has such a way of writing a story that you cannot help but see yourself in the characters. The love of God and our need for Him is shown so clearly.

Alaska's Three Pigs by Arlene Laverde & Illustrated by Mindy Dwyer. Cute and fun- a nice little variation to the Three Little Pigs.

Lynn Austin is one of my favorite authors. She is a Christian author who writes Historical fiction.

What are you reading? I am always looking for a good author. Anyone who knows me, knows my favorite book of all time- but I will share it once again.....

Safely Home by Randy Alcorn. Randy Alcorn is an awesome author. He has painted word pictures of heaven like I have never ever heard of or imagined before. I also love his books; Deception, Dominion, & Deadline.
He has a blog too!

Hi Sara,
I am a friend of Sue Oesterwind and went to HBA with Sarah, Mark and Barb (I think Dave had graduated already) and I found your blog through Sue. I have been a faithful reader for a long time.
I am reading a book called Absolutely Organized by Debbie Lillard. It is a great book written for moms. It has organizing tips for your schedule, bills and file system to you vacations, pictures and memory boxes.

I recently finished reading a biography of Watchman Nee written by Bob Laurent and was inspired and amazed by his testimony and life. I started reading Little Men by Louisa May Alcott with my boys and it's been really good so far.

Safely Home is my favorite book too. I'm hoping Randy Alcorn comes out with a sequel to Deception.

O.K. I will admit the only thing I'm reading right now is whatever the kids want me to read with them! I have never loved to read but I do love to browse through magazines!
You have convicted me to pick up a book!

Here's a cute one for your almost 3 yr old...Gossie & Gertie by Olivier Dunrea. My little ones loved Gossie & Gertie and the rest of their friends in his other books. I loved the simple illustrations and stories.

I like Lynn Austin too and I really enjoyed her Civil War series. I am currently enjoying a trilogy by Beverly Lewis. She writes Christian fiction about the Amish. Reading is one of my favorite ways to relax! I love audio books especially because I can "read" while getting other things done like folding laundry or cooking. I'm also reading a nonfiction book called Everyday Talk:TAlking Freely and Naturally about God with Your Children by John A. Younts. It has been very helpful so far.

I think that we talked about Safely Home - didn't we? I think it is one of my favorite books of all time. I've read it three times!
I am a big fan of the children's books that you picked out as well. In fact, I think that when it comes to children's literature - we are very similar. I am passionate about reading good books to kids & I wish that I could share my collection with you and your three sweeties. I have many books that they would love.
Do you like Patricia Polacco - she is one of my favorite picture book authors for older kids. She tells family stories & I love that & her illustrations are marvelous.

Have you read My Hands Came Away Red by Lisa McKay? It's excellent!

I love the pictures on your blog, but now my home looks so ... beige. : )
