Happy

It is not just because he is interested drawing that makes me happy....I am happy that he has found an interest that will keep him occupied for more than 10 minutes :) It has been 7 years, but we have finally found something!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Syd Hoff and his book; Syd Hoff Shows You How to Draw Cartoons. We are also using the Kids Can Draw books by Philippe Legendre that we found at our library.

:O)Let me know if you every want/need me to save the Michael's 40% off coupon for you. They have drawing books as well, though I'm not sure how suitable they are for children. Bobby saved the tiny drawing he included in the get well card in April. We could make out Bobby and his wheelchair, but were a little unsure whether or not Wes had included himself riding on the back of it!

This is to funny b/c my 8 yr old is getting into those drawing books too. He will sit there forever and just try and draw every page! And then we hang them on the fridge proudly!

Elise just started showing an interest in drawing also. Many of my Usborne books have step-by-step drawing instructions that are perfect for lower elementary kids. She has been drawing snails, princesses, flowers, etc. It is so fun to see her creating, and she is so proud that she can do it by herself.
If you need some more drawing books, check out my site on my sidebar. There are a bunch! :-)

Our boys love to draw too and are fascinated with cartoons. We like the Usborne art books, which make drawing easy for kids and adults alike.

Syd Hoff enjoyed traveling the country, visiting school children and teaching them how they can become artists in their own world. In his presentations,he would teach them how to cartoon using letters of the alphabet and numbers. In an effort to preserve his rich legacy, I've created www.SydHoff.org to honor the legacy of my late beloved uncle. It's filled with family photos, book lists, articles and much more. Enjoy!...Carol

Morgen's been drawing up a storm ever since K-4 started in Sept. She came home the other night and was drawing at the table for an hour. Isn't it great?
