Dave was so sweet and took charge of the kids for most of the day while I went to buy the paint, put a primer coat on, paint 2 coats of the aqua color, and lay down a few floor tiles to try to cover the linoleum. I am not done, and still have most of the edging work left to do. At least this gives us an idea. Mom, it will be all ready for you when you come (***that means we can paint the hallway :)
Not quite after....the gold light fixture will be spray painted brown and the mirror is not completely painted yet.
Stick-on floor tiles. I need to buy 16 more. I am so terrified about cutting them to fit around the toilet. But if we can figure that out, it is a really cheap way to change the floor. The tiles cost about .60 cents each.
BEFORE- when I was growing up I had a pink room, so a lot of this stuff was from there- now where will I put it? A yard sale?
Can't wait til it is DONE! There are built in shelves next to the shower that are getting a makeover too. I am so impatient- maybe I will stay up late tonight and finish!?!?! Or maybe tomorrow for homeschool we will have a painting and floor laying lesson?!?!?!!?

As always I LOVE the way you decorate. What a change! I really like your new shower curtain. Did you make that? I also would never have thought of dyeing a rug to match the room! I am always amazed by your creativity. Out of curiosity, how long have you been working on this project? Projects like these take me months! Thanks for sharing!
that is a great re-do! simply beautiful!
WHOA! You should send this in to one of those magazines that show how to redo things. That is such a night and day difference!
Hi Sara,
I have an award at my blog for you.
It is the "kreative blogger" award, because I enjoy your talent and creativity so much!!!
Tracey
You are so creative! I see you were also able to find a place for the "button" piece. So cute. I love it!:)

You are so brave and creative! I love the shower curtain especially!
Love, love, love it!!! Can't wait to come visit again and use it, hee hee......
It looks so bright and cheerful! That's a great idea to teach your kids these home improvement lessons.
Honestly, Sara....how do you find the time to paint and do all of this?!
I cannot even find the time to go to the store and buy the paint, let along sand stuff down, find a place to paint it, and then install it in the proper room!
You are amazing! (and the room is so great!)
Sara - this is AWESOME. Wow, wow, and wow!!! You are so creative.
I Love, Love, LOVE this! A great bathroom!!! I can't believe you painted that mirror...it came out soooo good. You're mom will be so pleased. :)
OH MY! I am SO EXCITED that I can totally have a VACATION when I come because that project will be finished!!! Hurray!!! It looks cute, but don't get rid of that x stitch you did when you were 14 or 15 and which we spent a fortune framing!!!
Wow! That's an amazing transformation! :)
?? How does dyeing the towels work?? DOes the dye come off at all when you use them?? Just curious - I never would have thought about doing that, but now...hmmm. My bathroom better look out!
Sara--it looks so incredible. What a nice job. Your artwork looks soooo good!
oh Sara...that is LOVELY. You are so creative and WHERE do you find the time to do all this!! You amaze me. My guest bath needs some work and you have certainly inspired me! However, I will have to wait until next year- too much going on right now:(
Hey - on the tiles around the toilet - you will not be happy with them unless the toilet is removed and you put the tile UNDER the toilet. That way, it will not peel up and dirt will not settle in the cracks around the toilet. Good luck.

oh my goodness - you did AMAZING! I really want to steal the decoupage idea for our bathroom cabinet. It looks very similar but has the "fake drawer over the top of the cabinet and 4 slimmer drawers on the side. Did it take long to do? Do you mind telling me what you did? Did you cut out random pieces of paper, paint the cabinet and then decoupage them on/switch out hardware? I am just SMITTEN beyond belief!
So many questions, I am sorry. Would you recommend the peel/stick flooring? Where did you find it?
k... you can ignore/delete me if I was just a complete and utter annoyance. Your bathroom make-over just got me way more excited than I SHOULD be about redoing a room (especially one that's not even MINE!).
I love your work. You inspire me!
That looks fantastic! I love the blue and brown colors together!
You have done an awesome job! It looks great!
