A Prize!

Another picture of my studio in all of it's glory...who else can say they have a stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and the kitchen sink in their studio?!? Who says I want a room all to my own? That would just be too lonely....

My newest idea for chalkboard paint: (I AM DYING TO USE CHALKBOARD PAINT SOMEWHERE IN OUR HOUSE!!!!) is to paint the back wall of the kitchen leading to the clothes washer and dryer (just past the pantry, beyond the fridge...). That way it would be magnetic too (although I have heard you have to paint about 4 coats of magnetic paint to make it work). THEN I could get a bunch of magnetic clips and clip little clear bags to the wall with all of my craft supplies in them! Can you picture it????? Let's just turn the whole kitchen into an art room. We can eat in the living room with our plates on our laps.

OK, so here is your chance to leave a comment- I love to do this every once in awhile to meet any new readers out there who have never commented.

Please leave me a comment and tell me if you would ever paint anything in your house with chalkboard paint- and why, or why not. Isn't that an exciting question??? Oh, and my regular (wonderful, thoughtful, sweet) commenters can comment too and be eligible for the prize. I will wait a few days and then take all of the names and pick one out of a hat. The winner will get a pack of cards- 5 cards of your choice. You can go here to see the cards...

Nope, never painted anything with CB paint although I've considered it many a time. I love your artwork and the fact that you produce such creative pieces in such a "regular" environment. Thanks for sharing your gift with others.

I have always wanted to paint a wall in our house with chalkboard/magnetic paint...my husband thinks I might be asking for more trouble...hmmm, but the kids are getting older and I think they could handle it now! I have the perfect half wall in the basement in my craft space. The kids could use it and so could I! I will post pics when I do it...I can start in the basement and then work up!? Yes, devious would be an accurate adjective right about now!

I would love to paint the side of the cupboard that is next to our back door (it's also our main door) so that I could list things to remember, but I am having a hard time convincing my hubs to let me.
Love your site and all of the inspiration!

I have never heard of CB paint, but then again, look at the lack of artist in me. Maybe I would do a small part in my kitchen! Hope I win!

I've never done it, but considered it a lot. I've seen so many cool ideas for chalkboard paint! I'm considering painting part of our kitchen island with it for the kids to have to draw on...my only hesitancy is wondering how often I would have to wash it down to keep it looking good....I remember as a teacher having to wash the chalkboard a lot. Anyway, I think it's a great idea! I always love seeing your art work! It is sooooo my style!

I've never heard of CB paint and have never painted any of the walls in my house with any kind of paint. I did some acrylic painting when I was younger and enjoyed it.

I would love to win some thank you notes. I ran out a long time ago!

Ewwww - I love contests and I especially love prizes! I'm not an artist even in the smallest sense. But with Caleb now on the scene, I think he would love CB paint. I have a wall in my laundry room that would be great for it - so it would definitely be considered!

I've always wanted to use CB paint in my son's room. I haven't ever done it though because I don't want him to think that he can draw on all the walls. =)

I've never used chalkboard paint, either. But, I wanted to stop by and say that your pictures always make me smile. I love your use of colour - happiness just jumps out of the photos. :)

We had a wall in our kitchen painted with chalk board paint (not magnetic though). It was fun to use but created a lot of chalk dust, and the dogs bed was underneath it, poor dogs! Love your art, very colorful and funky!

Hi Sara, I had this really old UGLY refrigerator, painted it with chalkboard spray. It was a great place for my daughter to play while I cooked.
I could NOT imagine painting in the kitchen, actually it's the cleaning my painting mess up daily that I can't imagine!
What a woman!

Thanks for inviting new comments. :) I had a neighbor who painted one of her daughter's walls (with two large windows) in her bedroom with cb paint. The other three were bright pink and we all collected as much pink sidewalk chalk as we could for her friends to decorate the wall. She was 16, and it was the coolest room in town. :) I say - go for it! It's such a creative space anyway! Let us know the final plan.

Some things to consider...how heavy would your bags of art supplies be? Would a magnet hold them? Would they be out of Skye's curious reach?

AS a teacher, indoor chalkboard walls don't excite me. I've been secretly wishing to CB paint our neighbor's garage wall that back's up to our backyard...what fun that would be for kids...and me, too!

Now that I have a homeschool classroom, I'm tempted to try chalkboard paint in there. Just need to find a space...I WAS NOT aware that you could get magnetic paint- are you serious? That is too neat!

Ah, no. And neither should anyone else.

When I get my prize-winning cards, is there an option to specify that only black and white should be used?

Thank you. Thank you very much.

I have thought about chalkboard paint in the past....but where in the world would I have enough space to do some in our apartment?! Oh! It would be fun in the hallway outside of our apartment!!! Then we could write a big SHHHHHH! on it for all of our visitors :D

Oooh, I have been dying to use chalkboard paint for years. Just too chicken to try it. You will have to do it and post pictures for all of us to copy. :-)

We have an island in our kitchen--I would love to paint one end of it so the kids could sit on the floor and draw while I make supper. It would be even cooler if it was magnetic!! I am not sure if our landlords would be hip with it though. :-)

And I am sending you the money for my beautiful painting--I promise! I have to get Josh to do it since I am PayPal illiterate. I will connect with him tonight and send it out! Thanks again.

I have an 8 year old skater at home and I think it would be cool to paint, if not his whole wall, a big square with CB paint, would go with the theme colors~black, gray, & red. :) what can I say i'm scared of painting ~ but love your style, it's all so inspiring...
thanks for sharing!
well, it's my first time commenting & I don't have a blog but hope you'll still consider me :D my email is lizkotowski@aol.com

I've never done it, but like you have wanted to for a long time. I think it would be fun to do in the kids room...but then I think about chalk dust and how infrequently I drag the vacuum up there and I chicken out!
