Help!

These four are almost done, and the prints will be sold either together, if you want the grouping, or separately like usual. They all have to do with houses and "home"....except the top left one, I can't seem to think of the perfect quote or verse. All the cliche stuff just doesn't sound right...(home sweet home, home is where the heart is....etc). But...I may not even have to have a saying about home....maybe just inspirational.

Any good ideas anyone? I will send you a free print of your choice if you can think of one that I use. THANKS :)

I saw the quote one time...Home is where your story begins. I love it! I don't know who said it though...sorry. Have a happy day! Love the note you sent! Kari

“A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams.”

"Home is not where you live; it's wherever people love you"

Neither of those quotes is original with me, but I have no idea who said them.....

Sarah,
I found your blog through the Braine's blog a little while ago. I love all the art you doand have gotten lots of inspiration from your blog. = ) Thanks for such a great blog that honor's Christ and has simple ideas on it.

Now for the reason I finally posted. I really love your style of painting. And I did have an idea for the collage.

Ps 127:1 a
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it... KJV

Most of the time I don't choose KJV, but maybe because I memorized it as a child this way this version sounds better to me. = )

I like them! I know of a saying, but it just isn't coming to me. I'll let you know if I think of it.

Here it is: "Home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts." by Oliver Wendell Holmes

"It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home."

I found all sorts of quotes at quotegarden.com/home

I like...James 1:2 Consider it all joy...

There are many squares...and I was trying to think of a scripture with "all."

Another quote I love but don't know who said it (it's not a scripture as far as I know.)
"A life spent serving Christ, leaves behind, no regret."

Sara~ A few years back I bought a couple of hand-painted pottery pieces at a craft fair to use in our bathroon. The soap dispenser has the 'as for me and my house' quote on it. The toothbrush holder is painted with Proverbs 23:19 "Be wise and keep your heart on the right path". Although they weren't sold as a set, I thought the quotes went well together. They remind me daily to keep myself and my family focused on the Lord.

The paintings are beautiful!

I love them! I've been trying to come up with something clever all day and I got nothing! Still working on it :)

Psalm 133:1 says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" I have that verse posted on my boys' bedroom door.

I was reading Randy Alcorn's blog and came up with another idea. He said that J S Bach used to sign his compositions SDG, which stood for Soli Deo Gloria, translated "To God alone be glory."

They are so fun and so beautiful! (they'd look great in my home...hee)

One of my very favourite verses is:

For wither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.

Ruth 1:16

I like Laura D's idea of Psalm 127:1 . Especially because of all the "building blocks" on it. :)

My favorite home quote the last few years has been the one "tacky" mentioned :"Home is where your story begins." I've seen it on lkots of signs and plaques in various catalogs - no credit given by name though.

So nothing original, but anyway...
Can't wait to see what you come up with. :)

I have a humungous wall in my family room that needs those four wonderful pieces of art! Nothing inspirational comes to mind immediately but it's the distraction of my two-year old pounding on his wall - it's his call to me that it's time for him to get out of bed!

I was going to suggest Psalm 127:1, but somebody else beat me to it!

Years ago I read the phrase,
"Home is where everyone knows me but still loves me." but I don't remember where I read it...

are these partial paper paitings? A million years ago when I was in 5th grade Harvest had this Senior Bazaar and I bought about 200 sheets of GORGEOUS origami paper!! I still have them! I was thinking that paper and paint might be something fun for me to try , but i don't want to discourage myself by creating something without a little advice. Do you share what kind of paints you use? and what about the topper? sealer?

Hi Sara...popped in here from the Nester. Just wanted to say hi and love the fun paintings. I've been thinking a lot about home lately. No great quotes, but reading these verses and quotes from the comments has been sweet.

My mom had a quote on a platter that I think my brother made when at camp:

"Home - where we act the worst and are treated the best."

well, it may not be very biblical, but it always rings true whenever I think about it!
